Hi there,

Those of you still using fnord for email should expect to get MORE SPAM RSN! I'd obsessively enabled just about ever goddamn anti-spam device known to man and well, it didn't work out like I wanted so I've disabled a bunch of them.

To that end, I HIGHLY advise that you folks start using a mail client like thunderbird. thunderbird (and others) pay attention to the spam flags that fnord will put on the emails. I will block a great deal of spam but that which passes through will merely be flagged. I.E. no more processing/lost mail. There will probably still be some mail rejection but there is little I can do about that.

I hate spam/mail administration almost as much as I hate printers.

Those of you in chat already know some of this story but essentially, one of my uncles died in the Korean war and his remains had been lost for the last 50-odd years until recently. Thanks to modern forensics they've identified what they found (femur, teeth some other bits). I'm off to Arlington next week for the full military funeral and what not.

I'm not really emotional about it so don't give me condolances. I never met him. He was 21 when he died and I'm effectively twice his age now. However if you think, like me, that it is all pretty cool, feel free to say so. Anyhow, here are the first news links about it.

Given that my food photos suck (and I knew that...), I've attempted to do a bit better this morning...



Its red/orange tinted because my curtains are orange and the morning sun is shining through them... The second photo is with a flash and out of 30-40 shots, it was the best. I really need a softbox.
